Where the Bruneval Raid launched — war-era aerodrome turned GA and training field alongside the famous racing circuit.

Thruxton (EGHO), west of Andover, opened as RAF Thruxton in 1942 — its Whitleys dropped the paratroopers of the Bruneval Raid, one of the war's boldest operations. Civilian since 1947, it is where the Thruxton Jackaroo trainer was born, and training continues today with Kurusha Flying School and Pilot Flight Training. Open 09:00–17:00 daily; closed to fixed-wing during published race events (NOTAM'd — helicopters sometimes permitted). AvGas and Jet A1 on the pump, free circuits with your landing fee, night operations on request in winter, hangarage and residential parking available.
